Put some little train tracks on the top of the graph for australia and one would have a roller coaster ride to rival Disneyland (other than loop the loops)

okay, so i went on a bit of a statistics binge after looking at poland.
i thought i would have a look at my home country's yearbook stats here in the uk (britain).. so here they are for your consideration.
had to go into the loft for some of the older yearbooks, and found some other older publications too.. nothing too remarkable as such here, as far as i can see, apart from:.

you've seen or heard about the ripley's believe it or not museums, where different weird & wacky items are displayed from human culture.
let's compile a list of the weird & wacky items from the jw religion that would make a great jw believe it or not museum.
maybe the wts could open one up it's own historical museum in brooklyn to make some big money.
I'd put in the old wall sized chart plan of the ages...
along with a copy of william millers so the visitors could see how both groups are of the same blood.

and, by the way, what we said about russell being the "faithful and wise servant"......?.
to get money (for jehovah's work, of course) we are now prepared to hint and insinuate when armageddon will happen and this time we will be 100% accurate.
we got that part right.. .
One of the things that helped me wake up when i was still an apologist was a conversation with my wife about how silly the Mormon beleif system was. (She dated a mormon for a while ) She then had me explain the JW belief system and history and she remarked how to her, it was just a silly as what I was mocking...and she made perfect sense while I did not.
sleepy time was coming to an end
Love the satire, I too think in many ways it helps more than long wordy explanations.

hi guys,.
i was just looking through www.reddit.com/r/exjw and there is a thread that was posted about four hours ago with the title "so our circuit overseer just got disfellowshipped" and there some basic details in their op.
the location is given as central coast, australia, which is north of sydney.. there aren't many more details other than "it has sent shockwaves throguh the congregations" and a query on the protocol in situations like this.
Dont forget
he might bust his gut to get back in yet...he might remain convinced that the JWs have the 'truth'.

just got back from florida where i spent the holidays with family.
about half are jdubs.. this year the prevalent atmosphere of superiority from the jw side of the family was totally toned down.
one of my cousins, a bethelite in upstate ny bethel along with his wife, found out that the wife was having an affair with a young bethelite "brother".
That organization has been getting cleansed for 130 years.
damn, they must be one filthy filthy bunch.

i've recently been thinking about our culture and how christianity in our western culture has failed to keep up with advancements in science.
) churches have let reason sink into the intellectual closet of fundamentalism.
"feel good" churches seem to be the norm today.
sorry cant agree
the red cross/religious hospitals began as a front of missionary work and a tool to spread the word.
He began to teach the islanders what he was reading from the Scriptures. Their lives were also changed. The islanders became peaceable, industrious, and more concerned about each other. When the British finally found John Adams, they discovered to their amazement that his teaching had unexpectedly produced a very orderly and moral society.
This is but one of many examples of how the teachings of the Bible have led uncivilized societies into orderly and loving ways.
Who says they needed changing? By whose standards were they judged as an immoral chaotic society? Who's standards of industriousness were cultivated? what gave him the right and those who came later the right to declare these people in need of their corrupt vile religion and its so called better standards?
So they became more peacfull by getting scared to death of hellfire? Christianity can hardly hold a flag high of peacefulness itself yet felt the need and still does, to turn heathens to their cause.
The teaching of Jesus transforms individuals and nations, not by an appeal to the wealthy, the powerful, or the famous, but by an appeal to the masses of common humanity
What a load of rubbish! Look at the state of the christianized nations of the world and their legacy. In 2000 years they have not transformed the world into anything remotely like what 'Jesus' taught.
Not going to debate with you, we will not see eye to eye!

How Modern Christianity has failed Christians

share with us memories of the bizarre, funny, strange, what you hated, what you miss...we all have them.
(question..why the big to do between terms- convention and assembly .
Funniest thing about any assembly or convention is how after it they all gush about the great talks/demo/drama/ecperiences/how refreshing it was but when you pressed them for specifics they couldn't remember a thing.
I remember the bomb scare in sydney and how hot it was and all of us in the stands with little battery powered fans buzzing away. Amazed at how all our bags were still there when we got back to our seats...A few years later i actually enjoyed the big conventions because of the food service. one could volunteer all day manning a huge cauldron of boiling potato's. Afew more years later and i enjoyed them because of all the hot young sisters doing their best to impress.
The old gatherings did have an air of specialness about them unlike modern ones where you have to bring your own paper bag lunch.
